Both devices share a 3.4″ wall footprint, the same firmware and the same rule: one number, one sentence, two buttons. The square keeps everything the round does and adds four corners — every numbered item below says which face carries it and how.

Every ± press is an override, so it has to state its own end: held value, expiry, and that the plan resumes. Overrides expire at the next scheduled setpoint change — the square also names who set it and ambers the Now chip so the suspension is visible, not inferred.

Identical on both faces: the buttons lock and the reason is written out. There is no keypad and no manager code — the ±2° stop is final on the glass, and anything past it is a decision made in the console where it is attributed to a person. The device never becomes a place to negotiate.

Every competitor puts these behind a Menu button, which is how a thermostat becomes a settings tree. Both faces keep them off the glass entirely and behind a single deliberate hold — one hidden gesture on the whole device, not two — the same convention the trade already expects, where a service screen times out on its own rather than waiting to be dismissed. Nothing on any of the three screens is editable: the numbers are evidence, and the actions that follow live in the fleet console.

The filter line is a reminder, never dressed as a fault. Anything about radios or the link moved to Connection, so this page answers one question: how is the equipment running.

This page is why the status mark on the home face does not need to be pressable. The mark reports — three radios in one glyph — and the numbers behind it live where a technician is already looking. Equipment fault codes come from the RTU, not from this device, so the code is named with its unit and timestamp rather than interpreted.

The identity a technician has to read aloud on the phone: model, serial, firmware, MAC, and the binding — site, zone, and which rooftop unit this device commands. The install record answers “who touched this last,” and the service number is the one field an installer programs, because the alternative is a manager guessing who to call.
On the round face
6.6 in² will not hold ten label-value pairs at a readable size, so the round device paginates: Diagnostics, Connection, About, with page dots and a next arrow. The square puts the same three behind tabs. Same three-second hold on the zone name — the gesture does not change with the shape, and neither face has a second hidden gesture.
Rules for both
No edit affordances, no reset, no factory wipe, no keypad, no wiring test that energises equipment from the wall. A technician who needs to change something opens the job in the installer app, where the change is attributed to a person and a job number. The device only testifies.
Still not shipping
A fault-code glossary on the glass, a live wiring diagram, and any “advanced” page a curious manager can reach. Three additions, and none of them is a menu.

The two devices share a backplate, a terminal block, a depth and a hole pattern. An installer who has wired one has wired both, and a site can swap an enclosure without touching the wall — which is the whole argument for shipping two faces instead of two products.
